UPDATE ON SERVICES (ELEVATED SAFE DISTANCING MEASURES)
08 April 2020

Dear Sir/Madam

UPDATE ON SERVICES DUE TO RECENT ELEVATED SAFE DISTANCING MEASURES

On 3 April 2020, the Multi-Ministry Taskforce announced an elevated set of safe distancing measures as a circuit breaker to pre-empt the trend of increasing local transmission of COVID-19. These measures will occur from Tuesday, 7 April 2020 to Monday, 4 May 2020. In accordance with directives from Ministry of Health (MOH) and Agency of Integrated Care (AIC), HCA Hospice Care (HCA) will remain a provider of essential services, providing home hospice care and limited day hospice services.

For our home hospice services, we continue to provide visits at home where we deem necessary. Before our visits, please bear with us as we ask questions related to you and your family members’ health status. Options of telephone and video consultation with our doctors, nurses, and medical social workers are available. If you need medical advice after office hours, please call our 24/7 helpline in the usual way. Our staff on duty will be available only for telephone consultation.

For our day hospice services, MOH has asked to consolidate our existing two centres into one at HQ Day Hospice. We are also to limit our service to clients, who are most vulnerable and needy. Hence, Kang Le Day Hospice will suspend its operation on Tuesday, 7 April 2020 till Monday, 4 May 2020. Our staff will contact you individually with alternative service options, if you are one of those affected.

Our equipment loan service however remains available. Please contact your nurse or social worker for more information if assistance is needed.

We hope that you and your loved ones continue to keep well and safe. We thank you for your understanding. If you have questions, please contact us at Tel: 6251-2561 or email us at contactus@hcahospicecare.org.sg
