Volunteer

Happiness is sharing our love and time, with others in need. Join HCA as a volunteer to be a source of comfort and joy, to those whose days are numbered, to add life to their days.

Whether you are an individual, group or corporate volunteer looking to contribute your time regularly or on an ad-hoc basis, we have a variety of roles available, at different locations and suited to your different skills and interests. All volunteers will need to commit for at least six months. 

According to Ministry of Health (MOH) requirements, all regular volunteers who are healthcare professionals and serving at our day hospices, are required to be vaccinated against measles and diphtheria. Proof of vaccination will be required for 2 doses of MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) and 1 dose of Tdap (with validity of 10 years).

Volunteer Onboarding Journey

Volunteer Code of Conduct and requirements

Volunteers are expected to adhere to HCA’s Volunteer Code of Conduct and agree to HCA’s indemnity clause when in active service.

Volunteers need to be more than 18 years of age, unless accompanied by an adult or volunteering as part of the school curriculum.
Volunteers are expected to attend an orientation session.

Day Tripper

  • Van helpers to assist our van drivers to ferry patients to and from the day hospice.
When and Where
  • Weekdays, 8am – 5pm (except PH)

Pot Master

  • Cook, distribute and serve food to patients and clean the kitchen.

Pamperer

  • Use your special skills to pamper our patients. (e.g. haircut, massage, manicure, etc.)

Befriending

  • Befriend our patients by keeping them company at their homes or at our day hospices.

Outing Buddy

  • Assist patients on group outings or bring individual patients out upon request.

House Cleaning

  •   - Cleaning and decluttering patient's home
      - Shifting furniture and/or disposing of unwanted items upon request by patient

Appointment Buddy

  • Accompany patients to their medical appointments at the hospital.
