About the Programme
HCA Hospice (HCA) has been appointed by the National Council of Social Services (NCSS) to be the national agency providing palliative caregivers training in Singapore.
The five-hour Palliative Caregivers Training equips caregivers with the skills and knowledge to care for their loved ones at home. The training also provides a holistic understanding about the needs of palliative care patients. Topics include:
Basic hand hygiene
Urinary catheter care
Oral care and feeding
Use of home-care equipment:
(hospital bed, wheelchair,oxygen concentrator)
Touch therapy
Symptom management
Personal hygiene
(bed bath, hair wash, skin care, turning, diaper-changing, change of bed linen)
Medication management
How to Register
This program is currently only offered to HCA Hospice patients and their family members.
If you or your family members would like to attend the training, you can either:
Training sessions are conducted in English. Participants are required to pay only $10 for a comprehensive guidebook and light refreshments. The remaining cost of the training programme will be claimed by HCA directly from the Agency for Integrated Care’s Caregiver Training Grant.
