On Saturday 3 August, Serangoon Junior College (SRJC)’s 6th WILL Run took place.About 1,900 participants ran a total of 20,143 km, exceeding the college’s goal of 20,014 km, the distance from the North Pole to the South Pole.

Each student ran 10 km, alongside teachers, alumni, parents, and representatives of partner organisations: HCA Hospice Care, men from the 1st Army Maintenance Base (1AMB), and Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC).

Each kilometre run was matched by a dollar donated from the Singapore Tote Board. Together with other fund-raising efforts organised by students, including bake sales and T-shirt sales, SRJC raised $50,000 in total.

Pushing the limits of mind and body …

The WILL Run aims to nurture college values of perseverance and selflessness, convincing students they are capable of breaking both mental and physical barriers to achieve their dreams, and in this case, play a part to contribute to the community.A cheque was presented to HCA Hospice Care by Guest-of-Honour Mr Seow Seng Chee, Chairman of the College Advisory Committee, who ran with the boys at the event.

HCA would like to take this opportunity to thank SRJC for its efforts and contributions.
