About our speaker

Dr Chew Soo Ping obtained his medical degree (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore. He went on to take up training in general surgery and obtained fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He was awarded a Singapore government scholarship to specialise in hepato-biliary & pancreatic surgery (surgery in gallbladder, bile duct, liver & pancreas) as well as liver transplantation in the renowned Princess Alexandra Hospital and Queensland Liver Transplant Service in Brisbane, Australia. He was Chief of Hepato-Biliary and Pancreatic Surgery in Tan Tock Seng Hospital before he started his own private practice in Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre in 2004.

Dr Chew is a Senior Consultant Surgeon with years of clinical experience, specialising in management of gallstone disease, diseases of the bile duct, liver and pancreas, including cancers involving these organs. He performs laparoscopic operations on patients who are suitable for keyhole operations. Dr Chew is also a very skilled laparoscopic surgeon who routinely performs laparoscopic operations for gallbladder removal, repair of inguinal hernia and abdominal wall hernia, appendectomy, adrenalectomy as well as splenectomy.

Dr Chew currently practices at S P CHEW SURGERY in Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre.
