Medical Social Workers

The incumbent will report to the Head, Psychosocial Department and work with a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses and the volunteer coordinator.

Job Responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for the delivery of psychosocial services to patients and their families while working closely with other multi-disciplinary professionals to achieve holistic care for patients.
• You will provide direct social work services, including casework management, counselling, make home-visits, conduct assessment interviews on patients and their family members and carry out intervention plans.
• Other responsibilities include networking with relevant organisations regarding the welfare of patients and their families, coordinating palliative care and support programmes, funding, volunteer management, provide clinical supervision to professional and support staff and interns involved in casework.

Job Requirements:

• Master / Bachelor Degree in Social Work / Other Degree with a Graduate Diploma in Social Work
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in social work and/or counselling in a VWO setting.
• Conversant in English and a 2^nd language, i.e. either in Mandarin/Malay/Tamil and the ability to converse in 1 or 2 local Chinese dialects would be advantageous.
• For those applying for the position of Senior Medical Social Worker, you should have at least 5 years of relevant work experience with a Diploma in Counselling and Certificate in Clinical Supervision or equivalent
• Must be registered with SASW
• Those with working experience in children/mental/healthcare services or programmes will be preferred
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team

Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
