Day Hospice

Our day hospices see to our patient’s needs away from home, catering to patients who are relatively mobile and do not require 24-hour nursing assistance. Patients spend a part of the day at our centre, offering respite to caregivers. Various activities are organised by our staff and volunteers to keep our day hospice patients occupied and allow for social interaction.

These activities include but are not limited to: light exercises and physiotherapy, music therapy, art and craft sessions, pet-assisted therapy and outings to places of interest.

Attendance at our day hospices, including two-way transport, meals and activities are provided at no charge. To attend our day hospice, patients have to be referred to HCA by their doctors, who should complete a patient referral form, or be referred by our home hospice team.

Oasis@Outram Day Hospice

oasis
Oasis@Outram is a one-of-its-kind facility which seeks to be a sanctuary for patients with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones. It prioritises our patients’ individuality and shifts the caregiving model from a conventional one-size-fits all model, to one that focuses on the 3D concept of Dignity, Diversity and Development of beneficiaries, volunteers and staff.
It is also one of the first and only day hospice in Singapore, that has facilities catering and dedicated to paediatric patients within an adult facility. This allows for patients, both young and old, to intermingle and create shared experiences and memories
Respecting the dignity of our patients means acknowledging the qualities that make them unique individuals, rather than regarding them as mere patients. Building upon the individuality of our patients, a diverse range of activities and programmes will be made available at any one time, enabling them to choose what they deem suitable. Through the progressive care model at Oasis@Outram, we aim to facilitate the development and growth of our patients, by fostering stronger relationships with the people that matter, and to reflect and find meaning in their life situations.
Unique facilities that can be found at Oasis@Outram include, an open bar, a movie theatre, a dental clinic, a ‘Spalon’, a game room and an indoor greenhouse. It is open from 7am -7pm* on weekdays (excluding public holidays), and is open to patients as well as family members and caregivers of our patients*.
Oasis@Outram is a collaboration between HCA and Lien Foundation, and we are grateful for their support.
*Subject to COVID-19 restrictions
